The time to stand idly by in the face of an ass-backwards structure of systemic racism has long since passed. The current outrage has been sparked by the continued abuse of powers from police officers, but this is merely one of many examples of the inequitable conditions black people face in today's America. Whether it be the school to prison pipeline, years of housing discrimination,  the lingering effects of idiotic criminal justice policies, or the deep rooted racist ideals that still find themselves prevalent in white people across the country, America has proven that it needs a complete overhaul of its core values and institutions.
